Here is my list

of changes in

the UI. Some

these are more than just

find-and-replace edits, some bugs, feature things etc.

here. For now I'm going to treat this just as my To Do wiki. If you want I can create a separate one for bugs, or for feature changes, etc., and transfer over the appropriate items, but I thought it might be good to

have everything in one place, organized by object (?). Change type is coded in brackets: [N] for cosmetic name change, [F] for feature change, [B] for bug, [P] for problem.

1. MEETING AREA:

1.1. MEETING AREA BANNER:

DONE: [N] Change "to Home" -> "to Group homepage"

1.2. FOLIO VIEWER:

[F] Assign a number to each item (not just documents) in order of their posting and always include it as part of the displayed item title (e.g. in the item display, navigation bar, item references, etc.)

1.2.1. FOLIO VIEWER CONTROL PANEL:

DONE: [N] In navigation bar: Change "Index of items for the meeting area" -> "Index of items" (to encourage shorter item titles)

DONE: [N] In navigation bar: Change "Polls" to "Straw polls"

DONE: [N] In navigation bar: Change "Votes" to "Decisions"

[P][F] In navigation bar: Presently you can click on "Polls", "Documents" etc. and the selected item type displays in the navigation bar but nothing happens in the item display. When item type is clicked in nav bar, item display should probably show just an index of the items of that item type with title "Index of <itemtype>s"

DONE: [F] In action bar: Change list of actions (order and names) to "Comment on item" (change to "Global comment" when index loaded in item viewer), "Revise document" (display only for documents), "New document", "New discussion item", "New straw poll", "New decision", "Attach/Link*", and "Assemble documents*".

DONE: [N][F] In display of preface: Change "this is the introductory posting by <membername>" to "Document posted by: <membername>, <date>" (this should remain even if preface is edited; for edits indicate "Preface modified by <membername>, <date>"

1.2.2.2. FOR STRAW POLLS SELECTED FROM NAVBAR:

[F] Comment on item should work for all items. If selected with item index in the item display, it should allow one to post a global comment (formerly meeting area general comments) in the discussion.

[P] If Post a comment popup is closed without posting, selected space stays red but is unclickable - it should go away and revert to display of document.

need to intercept window.close()... is there such a thing as a window's onClose event handler?? Otherwise just implement a cancel button and hope users use it.

Issue: I disagree with "comment in the discussion" for reasons we elaborated earlier: comments *respond* to things, they are not new things in and of themselves -brendan

"global"?

[F] "Add comment" should result in query to the user about where they want to place their comment, i.e. bring up popup with options for "Comment on current item", "Respond to current comment", and "Make a global comment". The first option would bring up the "Comment on item" popup corresponding to the item loaded in the item display (with magic spaces highlighted in item display frame); the second option would bring up the respond/reply popup for the currently loaded comment in the comment display; the third would bring up a global comment popup for comments unattached to an item or other comment.
